The 1980 MGB Roadster was the final model year of the classic British sports car. It featured a 1.8-litre inline-four engine with a 4-speed manual gearbox and an optional overdrive. Though emissions regulations dulled its power compared to earlier years, it still offered an enjoyable open-top driving experience. This model included rubber bumpers (introduced in 1974), a raised ride height, and simplified trim. Despite its age, the MGB remained popular for its timeless styling, reliable mechanics and easy-to-maintain design. The 1980 edition marked the end of MG’s long-running, much-loved roadster line.
